Points in CricBet

CricBet uses Apple Game Center points. The number of points awarded depends on the World Cup phase. The table below describes how points are awarded.

Phase Result Runs Wickets Man of Match
League (First 42 Matches) 50 (100 for Tie or Upset) 200 per team (100 if +/- 5, 50 if +/- 10) 200 per team (100 if +/- 2) 50
Quarter-Finals (Matches 43 through 46) 200 (400 for Tie or Upset) 400 per team (200 if +/- 5, 100 if +/- 10) 400 per team (200 if +/- 2) 100
Semi-Finals (Matches 47 and 48) 800 (1600 for Tie or Upset) 800 per team (400 if +/- 5, 200 if +/- 10) 800 per team (400 if +/- 2) 200
Final (Match 49) 3200 (6400 for Tie or Upset) 1600 per team (800 if +/- 5, 400 if +/- 10) 1600 per team (800 if +/- 2) 400
An upset is based on ICC Rankings, so a lower-ICC-ranked team defeating a higher-ranking team constitutes an upset.

As you can tell, with each phase you can win twice the points as previous phase.

Some Examples

Consider Game 9, England vs New Zealand. Say you placed a bet on New Zealand, put a score of 150/10 for England and 400/4 for New Zealand, and you chose Brandon McCullum as your Man of Match choice. The eventual result was a win for New Zealand, which counted as an upset, as NZ is ranked 6 by ICC while England is ranked 5, so you would receive 100 points. The score for England was 123/10. Your prediction was more than 10 runs away, so you don't get any points for score but get 200 points for wickets. As you were within 2 wickets of NZ's score of 126/2, you get another 100 points for NZ's 2 wickets. As you didn't get MoM correctly the total is 100+200+100 = 400 points.

You don't have to do any calculations, the points magically update within 24 hours of a match's end.

What about Man of Tournament?

I was hoping you'd ask!

You get 2000 points for the right Man of Tournament selection. However, if after your initial selection you change your mind, the points will be reduced to 1000 if league phase is still on, or 500 if quarterfinals are going on.
